Autumn Adventures
AUTUMN ADVENTURES ON THE SAPPHIRE COAST
It’s no secret that autumn might just be our favourite time of year on the Sapphire Coast. The days are bright, the water still warm, and the crowds have thinned, leaving wide open space for adventure.
Paddle quiet estuaries by kayak or SUP. Wander coastal tracks and forest trails. Ride winding roads and mountain bike through crisp bushland. Then trade your active morning for a long lunch. Think fresh local flavours, cool-climate wines, and stories shared around the table.
It’s also the season our calendar comes alive. From music-filled weekends to unforgettable food experiences, autumn brings people together against the breathtaking backdrop of our coastline.
Adventure by day, at ease by night.
MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURES
Crisp mornings and hero trail conditions make autumn the perfect time to ride on the Sapphire Coast. Gravity Eden Mountain Bike Park delivers more than 58km of premium, machine-built trails through coastal forest, with over 300m of elevation from summit to sea. Expect gravity-fed flow, natural features and a dedicated Skills Park to warm up before you drop in.
Further north, Tathra’s community-built Bundadung and Fire Shed Trails that wind through spectacular coastal bushland offer 55km+ of singletrack packed with climbs, gullies and rewarding descents.
NAVIGATE EXPEDITIONS
Slow down and see the Sapphire Coast differently this autumn with Navigate Expeditions.
Paddle calm estuaries, wander national park trails or join their signature ‘Kayak and Shuck’ where you can experience a gentle kayak on the Pambula River followed by fresh oysters straight from the source. From bushwalks and river tours to multi-day nature escapes, every experience is small-group, immersive and thoughtfully run.
Merimbula oyster tours
Wade into the clear shallows of Merimbula Lake this autumn with Merimbula Oyster Tours for a tasting experience like no other.
After a short boat ride through working oyster leases, you’ll gather around a floating table as fresh Sydney Rock Oysters are harvested and shucked before you, paired with crisp local wines and non-alcoholic options. Along the way, hear stories of the lake, the tides and the region’s long oyster-growing heritage from the farmers themselves.
SCULPTURE Bermagui, 7-15 March
Celebrate our spectacular environment and amazing local and visiting artists at SCULPTURE Bermagui. Held along the stunning foreshore of Horseshoe Bay, this cherished event brings locals and visitors together each year for 9 days of immersion in nature and art.
The outdoor sculptures are displayed on the beautiful Dickinson Point headland with an ocean and mount Gulaga backdrop. The indoor sculptures are displayed in the Bermagui Surf Club, The Bermagui Beach Hotel and at Shop7 Artspace at the nearby Fishermans Wharf.
Easter Weekend at Four Winds, 3-5 April
The Easter weekend is delivering three days of exceptional music in nature at the Four Winds venue in Barragga Bay. BYO picnic welcome and bookings essential!
3-5 April 2026 | Windsong Pavilion, Barragga Bay
Pianist and composer Luke Howard opens with his own meditative works before joining Lenny Grigoryan for original duos shaped by quiet beauty. The Grigoryan Brothers perform Howard’s Amistad and Nat Bartsch’s luminous Kindling, while Andrew Blanch and Vladimir Gorbach bring radiant colour to Philip Houghton’s Wave Radiance. Sharon Grigoryan performs Sarah Hopkins’ Reclaiming the Spirit before joining Luke Howard for Arvo Pärt’s transcendent Spiegel im Spiegel, its crystalline lines suspended in time. Solo moments for tabla by Bobby Singh and electric bass by Al Slavik act as sonic interludes between pieces, creating a gentle journey inward through space and resonance.
Grigoryan Brothers & Friends brings together an ensemble like no other. The musical relationships run deep, spanning years, countries, repertoire and instrumentation. The program moves from Bach to Piazzolla, from jazz inspirations to ambient atmospheres, performed across classical and electric guitars, piano, bass, tabla, cello and voice. What makes this weekend special is the chemistry between artists who have toured, written and created together over many years. Expect moments of virtuosic intensity and, just as often, stillness that transcends time.
GOOD SAUNA, BERMAGUI
Tucked along the coastline in Bermagui, Good Sauna offers a simple, restorative way to slow down this autumn.
Set beside Horseshoe Bay, this wood-fired sauna invites you to move between heat and cold, movement and stillness. Step out for a bracing dip, return to the warmth, and let the rhythm of the elements do the rest. It’s an experience grounded in nature, designed to reset both body and mind. Whether you’re winding down after a coastal walk or making it the centrepiece of your weekend, Good Sauna is all about presence, connection and feeling revived by the sea air.
Yandama on country
Connect more deeply to the Sapphire Coast with Yandama On Country, an immersive cultural experience led by local Aboriginal knowledge holders.
Set on Country and shaped by story, these guided walks invite you to slow down and see the landscape through a different lens. Learn about traditional practices, native plants, seasonal rhythms and the enduring connection between people and place. It’s a powerful way to experience the coast beyond the surface, grounded in respect, listening and shared understanding. An autumn day on Country offers space to reflect, connect and walk away with a deeper appreciation of this remarkable region.
BILBAAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Walk a 3.8-kilometre section of the Bundian Way and connect to one of Australia’s most significant Aboriginal pathways. Beginning at Jigamy, the experience opens with a traditional smoking ceremony before setting out toward the striking geological formations of the Pinnacles.
Guided by Country Custodians, you’ll move through peaceful coastal bushland that gives way to sweeping ocean views, while hearing ancient stories and learning about the cultural practices, plants and knowledge systems that have sustained this land for thousands of years. More than a guided walk, Bilbaan is an opportunity to experience Country through culture, story and connection.
Mimosa Wines
Perched above the coastline at Murrah, Mimosa Wines pairs sweeping ocean views with cool-climate wines and seasonal local produce. Settle in for a long autumn lunch overlooking vineyards and rolling hills that meet the sea. The menu celebrates the region, with fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes designed to match Mimosa’s estate-grown wines.
