PADDLING ON THE SAPPHIRE COAST

The Sapphire Coast is a paddler's paradise, with over 400 kilometres of estuarine foreshore and 150 beaches to explore by SUP, surfboard, kayak and canoe. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of our crystal clear waterways with breathtaking mountain backdrops, coastal forests and spectacular views across the Pacific Ocean.

For seasoned paddlers, bring your own craft to launch at a beach, estuary or boat ramp, hire sit-on-top kayaks at Bermagui & Merimbula, canoes at Brogo Dam or SUPs at Merimbula, Tathra & Bermagui. For those wanting an immersive nature padding experience with all the best local knowledge, gear and tips, a guided tour is essential. Take an intimate group kayak tour down the stunning Bermagui, Pambula or Bega River with Navigate Expeditions, or explore beautiful Mogareeka Inlet with Coastlife Adventures.

Seasoned surfers, beginners and groms love the Sapphire Coast for its pristine beaches and uncrowded surf, as well as its iconic breaks like Bar Beach and Pambula River Mouth. For those starting out or wanting to hone their skills, join Camel Rock Surf School in Bermagui or Coastlife Adventures in Tathra or Merimbula. There's also great options for surfboard and wetsuit hire for those confident to paddle out solo.
