Seasoned surfers, beginners and groms alike love the Sapphire Coast for its pristine beaches and uncrowded surf, as well as its iconic breaks like Bar Beach and Pambula River Mouth. No matter your skill level, you'll be spoilt for choice along our coastline with 150 beaches to choose from and a wave to be found all to yourself, if you don't mind looking for it. For those starting out or wanting to hone their skills, we've got awesome Surf Schools located along our coast as well as surfboard, wetsuit and SUP hire.
Sapphire Coast Stories
One of our favourite things to do in the spring is to head out on our hiking trails in search of sunshine, serenity and of course whales! From August to November, tens of thousands of whales travel the 'Humpback Highway' along our coast, on their way south to Antarctica. And lucky for us, our coastal walks and hikes offer up plenty of elevation, ocean views and beautiful scenery to watch the show!
Stroll wide-open beaches , follow crystal-clear rivers and wander through ancient forests as the landscape comes alive with the season. Keep an eye on the horizon for migrating whales , then refuel with fresh Sydney Rock oysters , seasonal produce, local pours from artisan distillers and brewers , and long lunches at award-winning restaurants and cafes . The perfect spring escape for fresh air, whale-filled horizons and a taste of the coast.
