This Summer holidays, our National Parks Rangers have come up with a variety of unique activities in and around the Sapphire Coast.   Here’s just a selection of what’s on offer.

You can join our Aboriginal Discovery Rangers as they conduct a search for bush tucker and bush medicine on our Finding Food in the Forest day on January 16th at Hobart Beach campground.  Or how about guided snorkelling at the Bruce Steer Pool at Bermagui on January 10th, a netted saltwater pool tucked into Bermagui Harbour where you can look for salty sea creatures and learn how to use your fins, mask and snorkel.  Or join the canoeing adventures at Bournda Lagoon on January 7th, 16th & 23rd where you’ll get to spot kingfishers, water dragons and much more as you cruise this beautiful waterway.

Other fascinating NPWS activities include investigating the mangroves of Merimbula at low tide and a chance to become a Shorebird Ranger for the day, as you search for nesting colonies and learn all about the local bird life.    To make a booking for the discovery program or to find out more, contact the Merimbula National Parks and Wildlife Office on 6495 5000.
