Bega

BegaBega is the rural centre of the Sapphire Coast, set at the gateway to the rolling pastures of the lush Bega Valley.

Country life includes lazy creeks winding their way through paddocks of picture-book cows, and horses grazing against a backdrop of the darkly forested mountains.

Bega Cheese

It is prime dairy country, long famous for Bega Cheese and home to the fascinating Heritage Centre detailing the legacies of culture and history.

Cheese and Wine go together, and Bega has the best of both.

The Family Museum gives the story of the region's past allowing insight into its colonial ancestors. An historic walk around Bega is available and an intriguing way of stepping back into the past and observing the heritage of the town.Bega

Bega Art Galleries, Art & Crafts

There are a number of local galleries to be explored with an array of arts and crafts available including pottery, paintings and some magnificent wood work.

Take in the natural beauty from a good vantage point at the Bega Valley Lookout, 3kms north of Bega. Then enjoy a picnic by the Bega River, in Littleton Gardens or alongside one of the towns lagoons.

Bega National Parks

Just north of Bega is the stunning Brogo Dam which offers picnic facilities and a ramp from which to launch your canoe or row boat. You can hire canoes to explore the dam and gain access to remote pockets of bush, teaming with wildlife. This is really getting away from it all!

A drive out of Bega takes you to Mumbulla Creek Falls and its tranquil rock pools are a delightful spot for a swim in a bush setting.
