Pambula produces around 215,000 dozen Sydney Rock Oysters a year and have a subtle earthy taste, rounded by the daily meeting of river waters from Yowaka and Pambula and the incoming tide from the scenic river mouth.

Board ‘The Kangaroo’ and sample the world renowned Pambula Lake Sydney Rock Oyster as fresh as can be – straight from the waters of the lake. Learn about oyster farming in the area, its history, modern techniques and biology.  Get a crash course in oyster husbandry and inspect the native Angasi species of oyster which are also grown on the farm.

Once the oysters are aboard then it is time to set sail downstream to the scenic meandering Pambula River where ancient Aboriginal middens dot the steep tree-studded banks and white bellied sea eagles circle overhead. See how the catching of oysters is done before heading back to the jetty.
