Fauna of particular interest and confirmed occurrence in the reserve include ground parrots, eastern bristlebirds, little terns, potoroos and pygmy possums. A number of dingo families also live in the area.

Dry open forest areas occur widely throughout Nadgee with patches of rainforest occurring in the upper Nadgee/Battery Creek catchments and low shrubby heaths being encountered at Mt Nadgee and along the coastline.
