MERIMBULA
Fishing was tough for anglers during the past week and about the only fish to be caught were flathead taken north of town. Some of these fish were up to 45 cm but most were around the 40 cm mark which is great as that is an ideal size for eating. Anglers fishing over the shelf and the inshore reefs did it tough with very few bottom fish found. Estuary fishing was slow but tossing squid jigs from the wharfs and rocks is the best bet with calamari ready to pounce.
