Montague Island Assistant Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage
Ever dreamt of being cast away on a deserted island? Well, Montague Island Nature Reserve, just 9km from Narooma on the Far South Coast could make your dream come true. The historic Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage is a remote haven for nature lovers, small get togethers and romantic getaways.
Wake up to the sounds of crashing waves and catch the magnificent views as the sun rises over the ocean. After a hearty breakfast, follow Montague Island walking track to explore this unique landscape that preserves habitat for over 90 species of seabirds, not to mention seals, whales and dolphins. With the opportunity to volunteer, you can help ensure the resident penguin colony thrives into the future.
As the wind whips up, head back inside and prepare a feast in the modern kitchen. Now that Montague Island Lighthouse is automated, you can rest easy that ships will be guided to safety while you wine and dine in comfort.
Guests must be able to climb a ladder independently at the island jetty and walk up and down the Island’s steep and rocky terrain. Persons with mobility issues are asked to check when booking. Some activities require moderate fitness levels.Back to accommodation list
